Seattle

Seattle, the largest city in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, is located on the Puget Sound in western Washington State. Founded in the mid-1800s, the Seattle metropolitan area now has about 4 million inhabitants. Called "The Emerald City" because of the more than 6,000 acres of lush evergreen parks within the city, Seattle is one of the most livable cities in the world.

Seattle has a wide selection of dining establishments from which to choose. From organic cuisine to succulent seafood, you have all choices for a wonderful culinary experience. Seattle is also home of one of the USA largest concentration of microbreweries, and, with a perfect climate for wine, Washington is the second largest producer of wines in the US. Seattle is known for its rain, though it gets fewer inches of rain per year (37”) than Dallas (40”), Miami (62”), or Washington, DC (40”). The average rainfall in Seattle in November is 5.7”. The average high and low temperatures for November in Seattle are 52°F (11°C) and 42°F (4°C), respectively. Bring a warm coat and an umbrella.

Washington State Convention Center

The Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) is located right in the heart of downtown Seattle, on the corner of Pike Street and 7th Avenue. The Convention Center features on-site parking, shops, tourist information, business services, and a variety of eateries. Registration will be held in the East Lobby on Level 6, where Sessions and Short Courses will also take place. The Industrial Exhibition, Poster Sessions, and Attendee Lounge will be located on Level 4.

Surrounding the Convention Center, within easy walking distance, you will find many fine restaurants, stage and movie theaters, museums, and major shopping areas. The well known Pike Place Market is only a 6 block walk from the Convention Center.
