Call for Proposals--2009 IPCC in Hawaii

IPCC July 19 – 22, 2009

Honolulu, Hawaii

What do our practical experiences, theories, and research tell us about what constitutes "Po'okela," or "Commitment to Excellence," in the communication of technical information? How can we best define, measure, and achieve that excellence? The 2009 International Professional Communication Conference provides a unique forum for professionals from both industry and academia to explore possible answers and share their ideas and knowledge.

Proposals for individual papers, panel presentations, workshops, and posters are invited and can now be submitted online. See suggested topic areas below.

Submitting a Proposal

If you are a PCS member with a user id and password, you can login right now and submit a proposal. If you are not a PCS member, you need first to create an account. After your account has been approved (it will take less than 24 hours), you can then submit a proposal.

Submissions for proposals with multiple authors should be done only once by first authors. The names, e-mail addresses, and organizational affiliations of all other authors should be provided in the area designated for them on the form.

Proposal Deadlines

  • Deadline for proposals (350 words or less): January 30, 2009
  • Early Proposal Review Opportunity ends October 30, 2008.

As an incentive to meet the early deadline, proposals received by October 30 will either be accepted as submitted, or returned with suggestions for revision. An early acceptance may also be helpful to you in cementing your travel plans for Hawaii!
