Standards Coordinating Committee on Power Quality (SCC-22)


Charter:

The Committee is responsible for coordinating IEEE activities related to the quality of electric power as it affects equipment, users, utilities, power and communications systems. This scope also includes development of guides, recommended practices, standards, common definition of terms and phenomena. The SCC-22 will identify needed standards within the area of power quality and locate sponsors within IEEE to undertake the development of such standards including designation of appropriate Working Groups (Subcommittees) to serve as the sponsor for the project.
The SCC-22 will serve as liaison, as directed by the Standards Board, to any standards developing bodies of record who are preparing power quality standards, and is responsible for making certain that all interested standards developing bodies are aware of SCC-22 activities and given the opportunity to participate.

 



Responsibilities:

  • Developing proposed IEEE standards within the scope of the Committee Voting on approval of proposed IEEE standards within its scope.
  • Maintaining the standards developed by the Committee in accordance with the IEEE Standards Operations Manual.
  • Responding to requests for interpretations of the standards developed by the Committee.
  • Acting on other matters requiring Committee effort as provided in these Guidelines.
  • Cooperating with other appropriate standards development organizations.
  • Reporting annually to the Standards Board.
