ED 100. Central Texas Section will present ED 100, the beginning lighting course for students wanting to learning the basics of lighting, November 6, 7, and 13, at LCRA . It is being offered to everyone in the design and specifying communities, as well as contractors and distributor personnel.

The Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) is hosting the 2005 State Engineers Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, March 2, at the Hyatt Regency on Town Lake in Austin. The ceremony will recognize outstanding Texas engineers with special guest, Speaker of the house, Tom Craddick. Prior to the banquet there will be a Legislative Forum and following the banquet will be a continuing education seminar. The TSPE announcement provides details and a registration form for sponsorship and attendance at these events.

Many thanks to Ken Afra, Regional Manager of UniFirst, who presented a program on arc flash clothing protection for our first program of the year. He covered arc flash ratings, PPE protective garmants, NFPA 70 E guidelines, OSHA involvement and other related topics of interest. He and his colleagues then answered many interesting questions from PES members. We appreciate his and UniFirst's support.
