| Engineers Week Banquet
, March 3 |
The Texas Society of Professional Engineers
has announced that
the 2007 annual engineers banquet, will be on Saturday
March 3rd at the Hyatt Regency Town Lake. This year's
banquet will be as exciting as usual. The theme will
be Casino Royale 2-007 (James Bond). In addition to
great food and live music, we will have the Casino
Knights at the banquet for entertainment.
The key to the success of this wonderful event is
corporate sponsorships. The a sponsorship
form lists the different sponsorship levels with
the benefits of each sponsorship level. Many of you
have sponsored in years past, and TSPE hopes that
you will continue your support of this wonderful
event. We are asking that for response by January
26th, so that your name may be added to all appropriate
signs and programs. More detail is provided in the sponsorship
letter.
We will provide a link the online registration for
individual attendance when it becomes available. |

| Many Thanks to Gabe
Paoletti |
Thank you to Gabe Paoletti, P.E., of
Eaton Engineering Services and Solutions, who provided
us insight into world of hidden partial discharges.
He helped us understand the little recognized economic
impact of ignoring this power loss in our systems and
showed us that proper instrumentation goes a long way
in identifying problems before system failure. We really
appreciate him making an extra effort to be at our
meeting. |

Some attendees of our meetings have not been
receiving their electronic copy of the IEEE Central Texas
Section Newsletter, The
Analog. If you are an IEEE member, your subscription
is automatic to your profile on record at IEEE. IF you
are not a member, you may subscribe. Details are provided
at the Analog Webpage.
Be advised that
there is not a lot of traffic on this list intentionally. The
list manager tries to keep it below 3 emails a month
- The Analog, the mid-month reminder,
and maybe an emergency announcement, but we prefer 2
emails a month. |
