November Meeting - Tour Hays Power Plant

We have our final meeting of the year; and it is a tour!  Indeed, we will tour the International Power – Hays Power Plant|, IPA Operations, Inc. in San Marcos on Saturday, December 5, 2009.
The tour will start at 8:00 AM.

The plant is asking for a list of attendees, so please RSVP to Mike Noth,, by Monday, November 30, 2009 so he can get the RSVP list together and passed on to plant personnel.

See the meeting announcement for clothing and safety equipment requirements, directions, and other information on the tour.

Thank you Dick Scott
We very much appreciate Dick Scott, Mid-South Regional Manager of Avtron Load Bank, Inc., for the most interesting presentation on load banks and their importance to keeping generators in condition to support our emergency power requirements. By the end of the meeting it was clear that generators must be run under load at appropriate intervals, if we want them to be available when we need them.

Continuing Education Certificates
You may pick up your CE certificates for IEEE meetings at the meeting.

Analog Newsletter

The electronic Central Texas Section newsletter, The Analog, provides news of many of the other IEEE activities in the Austin and San Antonio areas. If you are an IEEE Central Texas Section member, your subscription is provided automatically to the email address in your IEEE profile. If you are not a member, you may subscribe following the procedures provided at the Analog Webpage.

Be advised that there is not a lot of traffic on this list intentionally.  The list manager tries to keep it below 3 emails a month - The Analog, the mid-month reminder, and maybe an emergency announcement, but we prefer 2 emails a month .
