Description of Subject Matter/Action
Action By
1. Student involvement

Mike to try and work this from the student side directly.
Don to forward Mike e-mails of student IEEE president and meeting schedule.

2. 2008 new Executive team members.

New members to be nominated September 25, 2007 and voted into position October 23, 2007:
Bobby Speer for treasurer.
Catalina Martinez for Webmaster.
Stacy will move to Chair.
Rheuben will move to Vice-chair.
Stan will remain secretary.
Don will move to Member-at-Large

3. 2007-2008 Transition. Needs to begin.
4. 2007 October program. Previous speakers will not be able to make presentations. A  speaker has been found but negotiation will require approval of a stipend. We do not want to set a precedent of paying our speakers but a one time stipend would be important in this case. James moved to provide a stipend of up to $250 to obtain a speaker for October. Stan seconded. Unanimous approval.

5. 2008 Calendar

Mike to try to book Jan and March (Feb. is NEC Class).  Team to find contacts to bring topics to the evening meetings.

6. NEC 2008 class.  Two classes!

Question asked about the Sat class if it includes 1 hour TDLR rules.  Mike will check.

7. Engineer of the Year Award Committee nominations are Stacy, Roy, James, and Mike.  Team approved.  Progress will begin.
8. Misc. action items from July Meeting All.
9. Review old paperwork for by-laws Rheuben will check the box of files he has.
10. The August program of seminars at the Graybar Technology Showcase was such a great success that we hope it will be repeated next year. Wayne has asked for suggested topics and improvements that would make it better. All provide any comments to Stan, Mike, or directly to Graybar, Wayne Hachenberg. Don to post request on the Home page for other members to provide input.

Future Meeting/tour Ideas- Smart Grid, Valmount Steel, UT new generator and SF6 Substation, JJ Pickle, Long or Bass Concert Center, DVR @ AE, LCRA dam, Power Lab @ UT, SMI Cement Plant, Sequin, AFD – City codes for wreck-out, etc.
