Action Before Next Meeting

1. Financial Status. Don presented the monthly financial report.

2. Education meeting schedule 2009.  Hays Power Plant is Confirmed for Dec 5th, which will be our only Nov/Dec Technical Education Meeting.

Sponsors to provide information for Website announcements as soon as available.

3. Education meeting schedule 2010.  Kevin Ewing offered to have Shermco present at 2010 meetings, regarding several topics to fill voids in schedule.  James Mercier is working on Lyncole for a grounding presentation in 2010. 

ChapComm members to bring suggestions to the next meeting. Bobby will review and accept ideas for 2010 presentations.

4. Future class events. Work is continuing on the NESC class.  Suggestion was may need to move NESC class from April back to May or July, due to delay in confirmation.

Walter to make contact with the potential instructor for some high level details. 

5. Elections for 2010. Candidates so far are Chairman-Bobby, Vice-Chairman-Don, Treasurer-Andrew, Secretary-Kevin, and Past Chairman-Rheuben.

ChapComm members to look for new Member-at-Large.  Walter to announce vacancies at future meetings.

6. Mike Noth summary on Calgary.  PES guideline on chapter positions, says individual could hold the position for up to five (5) years.  This could strengthen the chapter if an individual has time to learn the held position, and then build it up future committee, i.e….meeting meal spreadsheet. ChapComm will discuss at next meeting.
7. Suggestion that we hold one meeting a year using the Distinguished Lecturer Program (DLP).  Mike will research pricing and available speakers.
8. ChapComm would like to know the amount given to CTS from PES on an annual basis. ChapComm will discuss at next meeting.
9. Rheuben proposed a new committee.  This Nomination Committee for Outstanding Engineer.  The committee members are:  Stacy Shook, Andrew Bluiett & Walter May. Walter will announce the acceptance of nominees at the next technical meeting.
10. Michael Deering IEEE-Visitation Foundation Major Gifts Officer from the IEEE Development Office will visit at the next technical meeting to foster technological innovation & excellence for the benefit of humanity. Rheuben will announce Michael Deering at the next technical meeting.
Next meetings. The next regular ChapComm meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th, the second Tuesday of each month in 2009. The meetings will be at TxDot unless the chapter membership is notified otherwise.
