a few blocks east of I-35. |

No dinner is planned in conjunction with this plant tour. However, attendees
may decide to meet at a local restaurant after the tour is completed. |

To attend this plant tour, you must RSVP by Friday, April 4, 2008,
using the waiver form , including drivers license number, so that
Austin Energy may perform a background check. The completed form must be faxed

STATCOM. STATCOM stands for Static Synchronous Compensator.
It is a generator that provides controlled reactive power at the point of common
coupling without the need of large external reactors or capacitor banks.
At this meeting, Arastou Oskoui, Austin Energy, will help us understand
the technology and how it is used in Austin Energy power generation to lower
power production costs. |

Participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Sneakers are fine. Sandals are
not allowed.
Participants must wear pants. No skirts or shorts are allowed.
No photos may be taken inside the plant. (Leave cell phones in your
vehicle or turn them off before the tour.)
Bring your driver’s license or photo ID. You will be asked to
identify yourself and sign a tour roster. |

From I-35: Take the E. Cesar Chavez exit.
Take a right on Mildred and a left on Holly. |
