Drives |
Mitch Clark with Toshiba International will lead
our discussion on Medium
Voltage Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). A
medium voltage variable frequency drive is a very
expensive and complex piece of equipment. This
presentation will cover the benefits of using a
drive, effects of a drive on a power line, effects
of a drive on a motor; different drive technologies;
and other considerations.

Many thanks to Steven Wencis of APC for
his enlightning presentation on 21st Centruy Data
Center Design. Although many of us have considered
elements or the design concerns he discussed, few
have addressed the design from an overall approach to
design on an integrated bases. We appreciat Steven taking
the time to share his experience during our February
meeting. Thanks also to Wayne Young with SWMCO for arranging
