Program:: Impact of a New DOE Regulation and Environmentally Friendly Medium Voltage Transformer Installations

Abstract: A new DOE regulation affecting medium voltage transformers may already be impacting you, or will very soon. While this regulation will result in more efficient transformers, thereby making them more environmentally friendly, there are other cost effective measures to make transformers more environmentally favorable while improving their performance as well. We will explore some of these opportunities leading to “greener” transformers including the new mandatory DOE regulation.

Speaker: Jim Stieler, with Cooper Power Systems

About the Speaker: Jim Stieler is a Senior Applications Engineer with Cooper Power Systems for whom he has been employed 30 years. He has primarily served Industrial clients for products including medium voltage transformers, switchgear, voltage regulators, capacitors, relays, dielectric fluids, and line installation and protection products. He has held positions in engineering, marketing and sales. Jim has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and has been a member of IEEE since 1984.
