Outstanding Engineer Award Guidelines

Purpose

Recognize outstanding contributions of a local engineer to the power engineering profession.

Process

A review committee consisting of the current Chapter Chair (or designee) and at least two former Chapter Chairs (known as the Advisory Committee) will meet. Only one individual can be selected each year. Nominations will be open for submission from any IEEE member or from the review committee. Nominations are typically accepted through November and selection will be made during the month of December.

Criteria

Nominees should be an IEEE Member of the Atlanta Section and a PES member. The following suggested guidelines are offered:

  • Technical contributions to the power engineering profession
  • Professional and leadership contributions to the power engineering profession
  • Local community contributions representing the power engineering profession
  • Professional and leadership contributions in the area of power engineering education (if applicable)
  • Service to the PES and/or IEEE on a local or national level
  • Nominate an Outstanding Engineer
