IEEE-Standards Association
Membership in the (SA) is separate from membership in the Insulated
Conductors Committee and is not a part of your base IEEE membership. If you're not
familiar with the IEEE-SA, visit the IEEE Standards Association website.
Why join the IEEE-SA?
Because the IEEE-SA will become the voting constituency for the
standards activities of the IEEE. This includes both the ability to ballot on the
technical validity of proposed standards and the ability to participate in the governance
of IEEE-SA through the election of its members-at-large.
The IEEE-SA was formed to create more efficient and varied methods of standards
development. This will enable more effective means of developing global electrotechnical
standards. Your participation will help to establish and expand these new programs.
Will I need to be a member of the IEEE-SA in order to ballot a draft
standard?
As of 1 June 1998, you need to be a member of the IEEE-SA to ballot
a draft standard.
