Abstract:
Ken and James gave a presentation covering the BPL technology that Mountain Telecommunications is deploying on the APS system, They discussed the technology used, why
this particular technology was selected, how it works, where it is deployed and what the APS build plan looks like for the future.
Some discussion of their perspective on the current BPL environment was included and a healthy question/answer session followed their
presentation. The presentation was attended by 34 people.
Biography:
Ken Walker is presently Executive Vice President-Strategy and Business Development at Mountain Telecommunications, Inc. He graduated from
University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
James Gillespie has been involved in data communications for 15 years and has a diverse background including Systems Integration, ISP and CLEC engagements.
James has heavy experience in design of large Wide Area and Local Area networks for all size companies and industries. He has been with MTI for 3
years building ISP and data services divisions and recently was promoted to Director of BPL Product Development. He has been a leader in current BPL trial
in Cottonwood, Arizona and is the foremost expert on BPL at MTI.
