Topic: "Arizona Transmission Line Siting"



Summary:

Ms. Woodall provided an overview of the siting process in Arizona and addressed the issue of how to effectively present technical information to the Siting Committee. 50 persons (including Ms. Woodall) attended.



Biography:

Laurie Woodall began her duties as Chairman of the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee in January 2001, when she was first appointed by then Attorney General Janet Napolitano. She was reappointed Chairman by Attorney General Terry Goddard in January 2003, and continues in that position. Ms. Woodall has presided over 26 of the 129 Cases which have been filed before the Siting Committee in its 30 years of existence. Ms. Woodall received her BA in Philosophy (with distinction) and her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona. Ms. Woodall has been an Assistant Attorney General since 1986. Her professional experience includes complex eminent domain litigation, environmental law, and energy law. Her hobbies include hiking and weightlifting. She has no interest in professional sports other than boxing.
