Summary:
Rudd Substation is a 500/230 kV yard built in 2002. Approximately a year after its commissioning, some of the electronic
componenets started to fail. After some investigation it was found that the electronics were being contaminated by nearby leaching ponds which were releasing Hydrogen Sulfide. 47 persons attended.
Biography:
Jim Hudson is a Senior Principal Engineer in the System Protection Department at SRP. He has worked in the System Protection Department for 13 years with previous experience in Substation Design.
