| Topic: |
An Update on Nuclear Power in the U.S. |
| |
|
Summary:
Since the 1970s, the nuclear power industry has been beset with a lack of growth. Economic issues with several root causes have ultimately stymied nuclear plant development. The U.S. government gave birth to nuclear power, and now, via incentives in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, has set the stage for a potential revival of nuclear power. Wildcards, such as global warming and global competition for energy sources, could propel a nuclear renaissance. 52 persons attended, including the speaker.
