An introduction to Solar Trough Power Plants from a utility perspective. The discussion included a review of the technology construction, operations, resources and operations. In addition, potential applications of this technology were addressed. Attendance was approximately 28 persons.
Bryan “Scott” Canada holds a B.S.Ch.E. degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and is pursuing his M.S. in Construction Management the Del E. Web School of Construction from Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ. He has approximately 10 years experience as a technology expert and project manager for utility renewable energy projects in the Southwest US. His industrial experience has included new technology development as well as construction management of a variety of solar and non-solar renewable technologies and installations. Through these roles, Scott has overseen the construction and operation of remote photovoltaic, distributed grid-connect photovoltaic, utility-scale photovoltaic and utility-scale solar thermal systems.
