Byron Flynn currently serves as Smart Grid Technical Director with GE Energy. In this role, Mr. Flynn is responsible for supporting electric utilities’ Smart Grid solutions and the associated development of the system architecture and Business Case. He helps Utilities focus on Smart Grid Solutions that provide operational and electrical efficiencies, system reliability improvements and customer services, while reducing impacts to the environment. Mr. Flynn joined GE in 1999 with the acquisition of Stellar Dynamics, a company specializing in automation systems and services, formerly part of Idaho Power Company. His service to Idaho Power began in 1981 and includes working in the Communications, Substation Design, and System Operations Departments.
Mr. Flynn is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Idaho and has been a member of IEEE for over 19 years.
Mr. Flynn holds a BSEE from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and a MBA from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. |
