Best Papers Awards
Since the program committee made no distinction between papers presented in the regular sessions and papers presented as posters, there were only two awards given for papers at HRI2008: Best Paper and Best Student Paper.The best paper was:
"Robots in organizations: The role of workflow, social, and environmental factors in human-robot interaction", Bilge Mutlu and Jodi Forlizzi, Pages 287-294. The full paper is available here.
The best student paper was:
"Towards combining UAV and sensor operator roles in UAV-enabled visual search", Joseph Cooper and Michael A. Goodrich, Pages 351-358. The full paper is available here.

We are pleased announce that three outstanding individuals will be giving invited talks at the conference. They are:- Professor Harold Bekkering, Nijmegen Institue for Cognition and Information
- Professor Raja Chatila, Centre National De La Recherche Scientifique
- Professor Herbert Clark, Stanford University
Who Should Attend
Researchers in robotics, human-factors, ergonomics, and human-computer
interaction are invited to attend. Because human-robot interaction is
inherently inter-disciplinary, the conference is seeking papers from
several disciplines. A primary goal of the conference is to create a
common venue for a broad set of researchers. By appealing to a broad
set of researchers, the conference complements many existing venues.
HRI is a single track, highly selective annual conference that seeks to showcase the very best in human-robot interaction. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and assigned for either full or poster presentation.
