The Center is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology（MOST I-RiCE Program). National Taiwan University cooperates with three world-class institutes and universities: CNRS: French National Center for Scientific Research, INRIA: The French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control, and UPMC: Université Paris VI or Université Pierre et Marie Curie to constitute the international research center.

The main theme of the research in iCeiRA is centring on Cognitive Systems and Robotics. It is divided into three major areas of research and development, namely intelligent robot integrated automation system, medical and health care robotics, and service robotics. Research and development results in these areas will be presented and demonstrated during the tour.
