Brief Bio:  Markus Püschel is an Associate Research Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Diploma (M.Sc.) in Mathematics and his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Computer Science, in 1995 and 1998, respectively, both from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. From 1998-1999 he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Mathematics and Computer Science, Drexel University. Since 2000 he has been with Carnegie Mellon University. He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, and was an Associate Editor for the IEEE Signal Processing Letters, a Guest Editor of the Journal of Symbolic Computation, and the Proceedings of the IEEE. His research interests include scientific computing, compilers, applied mathematics and algebra, and signal processing theory/software/hardware.
