The IEEE Asian Solid-State Circuits Conference (A-SSCC)and the IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC) sponsor highly regarded student design contests each year.

The prestigious annual DAC/ISSCC Student Design Contest, supported by DAC and ISSCC and DAC-sponsoring organizations with the help of corporate donors, promotes excellence in electronic systems design. According to Co-chair Bill Bowhill, 47 institutions from 16 countries were represented in the 2008 competition. The winners will be announced at the ISSCC in February 2009 and honored in a ceremony at DAC (July 26-31, 2009) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The names of prior awardees may be found at http://www.dac.com/46th/studcon.html.
