HIGHLIGHTS OF PROGRAM
- I was the Project Engineer at age 35, trained Lockheed
engineers and installed in flight U2 aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base
- Project performed for Lockheed Aircraft and US Air
Force in 1965
- First all Digital data acquisition acquired by Lockheed
Aircraft
- First use of Integrated Circuits by Lockheed Aircraft
- Was developed and completed in 4 months from scratch
- Was first test flown and proven operationally ready at
Edwards Air Force Base in November 1965
- Was then flown 285 times around the world
for 18 months
- Was operated in conditions of the worst air
turbulence possible
- The
HICAT
PCM system was flown aboard this U2 aircraft and was reported to have
experienced not a single failure.
