Tutorial Title: Trends in Bioinformatics
Speaker: Dr. Deendayal
Dinakarpandian (“Dinakar”), Assistant Professor, Department of
Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, University of Missouri-Kansas
City.
Abstract: Bioinformatics is a fast moving field that is multifaceted.
This tutorial will consist of two main parts. The first part will focus on the
role that Bioinformatics has played in advancing multi-disciplinary research to
date. The second part will present vignettes of current frontiers and likely
trends in the near future. In particular, an attempt will be made to give a
candid assessment of open questions in the area. Attendees will leave with a
sense of the absorbing nature of the field and its continuing evolution.
Prospective Audience: Graduate students, Researchers and Professionals with a
biological or physical science background and an interest in multi-disciplinary
research.
