ECCE2011
The third IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition® was held 17-22 September 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona. Over 1100 people attended and 41 exhibitors participated in the Exposition. ECCE2011 provided an opportunity for authors to present and attend high quality technical presentations and tutorials. The program was replete with distinguished plenary speakers, tutorials given by experts from industry and academia, panels of experts in rap session, and ample opportunities to network and make new acquaintances in the energy conversion field. Technical sessions fell into two major categories of Energy Conversion Systems and Components and Subsystems with a host of topical areas in each ranging from alternative and renewable energy to grid ancillary services, power electronic enabled applications, lighting, electrified transportation systems, energy storage and more. ECCE 2011 combined the activities of past Energy Conversion Congress and Expositions that merged the previous IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference with technical sessions of the IEEE Industry Applications Society Industrial Power Converter Committee and Power Electronic Devices and Components Committee. This event also integrated the successful IEEE Energy 2030 conference that was initiated to foster energy conversion technology, policy and economic framework directed at the creation of a sustainable, global, energy infrastructure by 2030.
