Biography: Dr. Mukta Farooq is a Globalfoundries Fellow and the technology development team leader for 7 nm Advanced Silicon Packaging. She is an IEEE Fellow, an IEEE EDS Distinguished Lecturer, a Distinguished Alumna of IIT-Bombay (India), a Mercer Distinguished Lecturer (RPI), and a member of the EDS Board of Governors.

Mukta was the technology leader who drove the team to achieve the industry’s first high volume 3D logic wafer, for which she received an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. She is a prolific inventor with over 200 issued patents, and has been named a GlobalFoundries Master Inventor, an IBM Lifetime Master Inventor and an IBM Academy of Technology member.

She is a long-serving mentor to Women in Engineering, and has been invited many times to talk about her road to achieving technical expertise. In 2008, Mukta was the recipient of the National Women of Color in STEM - Technology All Star Award. In 2017, she was invited to give the keynote at the Society of Women Engineers’ Awards Night.

Mukta received her BS from IIT-Bombay, MS from Northwestern University, and PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is married and has two adult children.
