Liquid-Assistant Transfer Printing Technology
Biography: Dr. Baoxing Xu is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Virginia. He received his PhD in Mechanics and Materials from Columbia University in 2012 and was a Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2014.
Dr. Xu’ s research interests have been focused on multiphysics mechanics-driven extreme design and nanomanufacturing of functional materials, structures and devices for applications in wearable electronics and healthcare, in particular, transfer printing in liquid, solution shearing, soft-hard material integration, and bioinspired devices and structures. He has also been working on nanomechanics at extreme conditions, including mechanics of liquids in nanoconfinements, nanofluidics in response to environments, and thermal transport of mechanically deformed nanomaterials. Dr. Xu received the ONR-Young Investigator Award in 2020 and 2020 ASME- Sia Nemat-Nasser Early Career Award.
