Integrated Light Source Technologies for Enabling Laser-Integrated Silicon Photonics Chips

Donguk Nam (Nanyang Technological University)

Biography:Donguk NamĀ is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received his Ph.D. (2014) and M.S. (2012) degrees both in the Department of Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and had a B.Eng. degree from Korea University (2009). After working as a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University for one year, he joined Inha University, South Korea, as an Assistant Professor. In 2017, he joined NTU as an Assistant Professor. His research works focus on developing and harnessing unique strain engineering techniques for the realization of unprecedented integrated light sources for optical and quantum computing technologies. His recent work has been published in high-impact journals including Nature Communications and also has been highlighted by a number of media and magazines including Optics and Photonics News (OPN).
