Three-Dimensional Architecture of Atomically Thin Semiconductors

Jong-Hoon Kang (POSTECH)

Biography:Jong-Hoon Kang is an Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). His research interests are to develop electronic and optical materials, synthesize their epitaxial thin film heterostructures, and to explore emergent nanoscale phenomena for the novel electronics and optoelectronics. Particularly, his current interest includes the atomic-scale synthesis & characterization of atomically thin semiconductors and quantum materials such as transition metal dichalcogenides, Fe-based superconductors, and complex oxides.

He received B.S. and M.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before coming to the POSTECH in 2022, he was a postdoctoral scholar at University of Chicago and senior researcher at Semiconductor Research & Development Center in Samsung Electronics.
