The IEEE Holm Operating Committee is pleased to announce that the 66th IEEE Holm Conference on Electrical Contacts will be held on-site live on Oct. 24th -27th, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. We reviewed the latest progress of COVID-19 vaccination in U.S. at our recent committee meeting and expected continued improvement by the time of the conference. We hope that you will be able to join us and attend the conference live. Meanwhile we will work closely with IEEE and the conference venue to ensure safety protocols will be followed.

We realize that on-site participation might not be possible for many of attendees outside of the United States. Therefore, we will provide an option to present and participate virtually. Although the details are not yet refined, we plan to record all presentations from the live conference and also display the virtual presenters to those attending live.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Holm Conference in San Antonio in person or virtually in October.

The Holm conference provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest developments in the field of electric contacts and the application of recent advances in materials and processes in electric, electronic and telecommunication equipment. The 2019 conference had 54 papers over two and half days including the Holm Scientific Achievement Award lecture and the Mort Antler lecture.

Practicing designers, engineers, physicists and research scientists - those new to the field and those experienced will find this conference very beneficial for learning as well as providing opportunities for international networking. The international contributors come from universities and industries in USA, Austria, Canada, Japan, China, France, Switzerland, Russia, Germany, United Kingdom and other countries. These papers provide the attendees with up-to-date information on a wide range of subjects that makes this conference so attractive to the practicing engineer.

The Intensive Course will be hosted at the 66th IEEE Holm Conference in 2021. The Course includes class problem-solving exercises so that participants will learn how the Course material can be applied. A participant in this Course will thus leave the sessions with a thorough and broad knowledge of the subject. The Course will run from October 19 to October 23. The Conference begins on October 24.
