    The IBASE-BF'20 – 1st International Conference on the Impact of Big data application on Sustainable Cities and Communities aims on bringing together researchers of various disciplines such as social sciences, life and earth sciences, exact and applied sciences and computer science, in order to shape a new scientific and cultural paradigm for African cities and communities.

    Major topics of the conference are:

  • We are pleased to invite you to submit your papers to IBASE-BF'20. All submissions will be reviewed on the basis of relevance, originality, importance and clarity.
    THEMES

    The 1st International Conference on Impact of Big data application on society and environment (IBASE-BF'20) will include a highly selective program of technical papers, accompanied by panel discussions and keynote presentations. We welcome high quality papers that describe original and unpublished research papers addressing the real issues, challenges and needs in building smart cities for now and future on the following technical areas of (but not limited to) smart cities and communities.

    TYPES of SUBMISSIONS

    The following type of submissions will be considered:

  • Technical paper: Finished or consolidated R&D works, to be included in one of the Conference themes. These papers should not exceed 10 pages.
  • Experience report: Experience reports that show practical implementation experience, including case studies, focused on a specific topic of the conference. These papers should not exceed 4 pages.
  • Posters: Initial work with relevant ideas, open to discussion. Submissions comprise an extended abstract of not more than two pages, excluding references, but including all text, appendices, and figures and an A0 (841 mm width x 1189 mm height) size poster.
  • Submitted papers must be written in English, must not have been published before, not be under review for any other conference or publication and not include any information leading to the authors’ identification. Therefore, the authors’ names, affiliations and bibliographic references should not be included in the version for evaluation by the Program Committee. This information should only be included in the camera-ready version, saved in Word or Latex format and also in PDF format. These files must be accompanied by the Consent to Publication form filled out, in a ZIP file, and uploaded at the conference management system.

    All papers will be subjected to a “double-blind review” by at least three members of the Program Committee.

    The best poster submissions will be invited to give short presentations in a session during the main conference.

    Each paper registration includes the following items:

  • 3 days (24/7, 25/7, 26/7) lunches

    Registration are opened! Please go to https://edas.info/r26747 and log on to the EDAS website from where you can directly pay the registration fee. Every delegate attending the conference must pay the conference fee (a student must pay the student fee, others must pay the regular fees). For every paper that is accepted and published in the conference proceedings, at least one of the authors must pay the fee. One of the authors must present the paper in person at the conference. An accepted paper will be published in the program and proceedings only if the full-fee registration payment for one of the authors is received and correctly

    Cancellation policy

    Any cancellation received will be subject to the following refund policy: Cancellations must be notified in writing (e-mail is sufficient) to the Conference Secretariat. Any cancellation made within 14 days from the conference date will be subjected to a 70% cancellation charge. No refund can be made after 28th January 2020. The Conference Secretariat must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers. No refund if written cancellation is received after 28th January 2020.

    Conference will be held at Institut de Formation Ouverte à Distance (IFOAD) of Université Joseph KI-ZERBO. IFOAD is located in a quiet quarter of Ouagadougou, called Ouaga 2000.
