James D. Spaulding is senior business development manger – DoD, for Eaton Corporation, an $13.7 billion global diversified power management company. He leads Eaton’s global government business development efforts with strategic focus on the United States Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Prior to joining Eaton in April 2010, Spaulding served as Director of Operations, Atlantic Contingency Constructors, joint venture for Shaw Group Corporation in San Antonio, Texas, where he was responsible for internal and external operations, USN program management and all operations associated with directing multiple world wide Naval project management. He previously served as vice president, construction operations for Mercedes Corporation in San Antonio, Texas, and as principal owner, Team Construction, San Antonio, Texas. Spaulding began his professional career after graduation from Louisiana Technical University, Ruston, Louisiana and was commissioned as a regular officer in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Spaulding served as a fighter pilot in the A-10 weapon systems as well as a senior instructor in the fighter lead In training program, T-38. His additional duties included director of squadron public affairs for the 357th Flight Training Squadron in Texas,executive officer and director of rated officer assignments United States Space Command. Upon his separation from active duty, Spaulding joined United Airlines where he functioned as a FAA line check airman and instructor pilot, A320. Spaulding holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering technology from Louisiana Technical University and received his project manager professional certification from the project management institute in 2009. Spaulding is located in San Antonio Texas. He is actively involved in the local high school education professional development programs, educating junior and senior students on the various high tech professions, alternative/sustainable energy careers and processes involved to achieve success.
