Post Conference Tour
PT-1: Nov. 6 - Nov. 12 Beijing - Xi’an - Guilin - Beijing
USD1280 / per person for single room occupancy,
USD1100 / per person for double room share
Over a period of more than 2000 years, Xian was the capital for eleven
dynasties. Along with Rome and Constantinople, this city was a world
leader in culture and trade and played a vital role in bridging the gap
between east and west.
Many of the sites to visit are outside Xian and the surrounding
countryside offers a treasure trove of historical and religious relics.
The most famous site is the Terracotta Army, built to protect the
Emperor Qin Shi Huang, whose Mausoleum lies close to the warriors. Both
these sites are to the east of Xian.
One of the most-visited Chinese cities, Guilin (pop. 630,000), located in the northeastern part of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has long been famous for its limestone karst hills. Formed more than 200 million years ago when the oceans receded from this area, the towers sprout from a patchwork of paddy fields and flowing streams, creating a dreamy, seductive landscape that leaves few souls unstirred.
PT-2: Nov. 6 - Nov. 11 Beijing - Tai An - Qufu - Beijing
USD 650 / per person for single room occupancy,
USD 550 / per person for double room share
(cable car available to the peek of Taishan Mountain)
Mt Tai, the first of the "Five Sacred Mountains", is located in the
central part of Shandong Province, within the precinct of Tai'an city.
Its circumference is 80 kilometers. The highest peak of this mountain
range is about 1545 meters above sea level with deep valleys and rare
cultural relics of the old days.
A famous saying goes, "Scaling Taishan Mountain makes one feel superior
to the whole world", as it creates a feeling of regal dignity and
imperial majesty. Many romantic scholars of old considered it a great
treat to express their sentiments on top of Taishan Mounain.
The mountain is an early birthplace of China's ancient civilization and
the area around was one of ancient China's political, economic and
cultural center since ancient time,
Historical records show that a total of 72 emperors of the ancient
dynasties, from the first Qin Emperor Shihuang onward, have made
sacrifices to Taishan Mountain
Located
inside the south gate of Qufu, Shandong, the Temple of Confucius is a
group of grand buildings built in oriental style.
The
Temple started as three houses in the year of 478 BC, the second year
after the death of Confucius. Each year as Confucianism became the
standard of Chinese culture, the scale of the Temple was expanded
accordingly.
PT-3: Nov. 6 - Nov. 8 Beijing - Chengde - Beijing
USD 380 / per person for single room occupancy,
USD320 / per person for double room share
Chengde is a famous historical and cultural city covering 4,471 square
kilometers with population of 8.85 millions. Chengde is famous as the
18th century (Qing Dynasty) imperial resort area. The Imperial Summer
Villa and the Eight Outer Temples are very famous scenic spots of
China. The special locally-made products are silk products, glass ware,
and tinned food. The beautiful ancient temples in Chengde are indeed
the smaller copies of those in Lhasa City of Tibet. Therefore, since
the weather is not permitted to visit Lhasa city of Tibet in Dec., to
visit the Chengde will be a good alternation.
The formation of the Eight Outer Temples around the Mountain Resort of
Chengde City is our miniature motherland. Replicas of the Sanmoye
Temple by the bank of the Yalutsangpo River, the Putala Palace in the
upper Tibet, the Jashilumbu Monastery in the lower Tibet, and the
Guerzha Temple in Yili, representative of China's southwest and
northwest border areas, have appeared here. Shuxiang Temple on the
Wutai Mountain, and the Hall of Arhats in the Anguo Temple in Haining
County, represent Northern and Southern China. These Temples in
Tibetan, Mongolian as well as the Han architectural styles, are not
just a simple imitation, but a new creation.
