220 Classic e-Books Coming to Members
|
This February, IEEE is preparing to unveil its latest members-only benefit that will give members access to over 200 e-books on IEEE Xplore. The e-book collection will span a number of today's technologies across nineteen different content areas, and include:
- practical handbooks;
- introductory and advanced texts;
- reference works;
- professional books.
Valued at nearly US$25,000 retail, this collection of e-books will be offered to members at no additional cost.

Check Out the NEW IEEE.tv Web Site

The NEW IEEE.tv is alive. It’s designed to bring an improved internet video watching experience to IEEE members and technologists around the globe.
The new Web site incorporates advanced features as well  as a redesigned viewer interface for watching programs. The Web site enables visitors to easily search and sort through the more than 130 videos currently part of the IEEE.tv video library, based on specific topics of interest.
The viewer that is used to play programs has also been upgraded to include additional capabilities including video sharing, social media integration, and full screen viewing.

• New—Scalable video navigation. Upgraded searching, sorting,
and other utilities
• New—Transcripts of every video available for download - Member Benefit
• New—Social media and RSS integration. Post videos on Facebook and

IEEE Establishes Haiti Fund
|
Valiant efforts continue in Haiti to alleviate suffering and provide basic human needs, yet other challenges lay ahead. One of these is re-establishing engineering and technology education and professional activities in Haiti. To help meet this challenge, IEEE has established the IEEE Haiti Engineering Educational and Professional Development Rebuilding Fund. It will match donations up to the first US$50,000 contributed. IEEE continues to encourage donations to relief organizations. But we are hopeful that the generosity of members and others will add to the long-term revitalization of Haiti through this IEEE fund.

Did You Know?
 As a members-only benefit, in IEEE.tv you can create your own playlist of programs. The myTV Playlist feature allows you to catalog your favorite videos or videos you would like to watch at a later time. But did you know, that the myTV folder can also be accessed from within myIEEE? Once you log into myIEEE, navigate to the myIEEE tab and look for the IEEE.tv module. Along with New Program and Most Viewed tabs you'll find myTV. Select a program and the newly-designed IEEE.tv viewer begins playing your selection. Since you have already logged in with your Web Account, watching members-only programming will not require an additional login.
