IEEE Establishes Haiti Fund
Valiant efforts continue in Haiti to alleviate suffering and provide basic human needs, yet other challenges lay ahead. One of these is re-establishing engineering and technology education and professional activities in Haiti. To help meet this challenge, IEEE has established the IEEE Haiti Engineering Educational and Professional Development Rebuilding Fund. It will match donations up to the first US$50,000 contributed. IEEE continues to encourage donations to relief organizations. But we are hopeful that the generosity of members and others will add to the long-term revitalization of Haiti through this IEEE fund.
As a members-only benefit, in IEEE.tv you can create your own playlist of programs. The myTV Playlist feature allows you to catalog your favorite videos or videos you would like to watch at a later time. But did you know, that the myTV folder can also be accessed from within myIEEE? Once you log into myIEEE, navigate to the myIEEE tab and look for the IEEE.tv module. Along with New Program and Most Viewed tabs you'll find myTV. Select a program and the newly-designed IEEE.tv viewer begins playing your selection. Since you have already logged in with your Web Account, watching members-only programming will not require an additional login.
IEEE very much appreciates your membership and looks forward to serving you again in 2010.
As valuable IEEE members we are committed to providing you with the resources and connections to meet the challenges of 2010. As your career partner, IEEE is providing a free e-book to all professional-grade members who renew their 2010 membership, compliments of IEEE-USA. Renewing members will receive free access to one of the following e-books:
Engineering the Art of Negotiation Part 2: How to Handle your Colleagues
Survivor Planning: What Every Spouse Should Know
Communicating with Congress: How to Build a Relationship with your Elected Officials
An e-mail from IEEE-USA to all renewed members will be sent in March with further instructions regarding the e-book download.
Although 31 December marked the end of the membership year, there is still time to renew.
Featured Webinar: Two Brains Are Better Than One: Right-Brained Leadership for Projects SPONSORED BY IEEE GRADUATES OF THE LAST DECADE
IEEE Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) is pleased to have Dr. B. Michael Aucoin, PE, PMP present “Two Brains Are Better Than One: Right-Brained Leadership for Projects.”
The future of work is project work! But individuals and organizations struggle with how to manage projects successfully – nearly two-thirds of workplace projects fail to meet their targets or must be terminated. In contrast, studies of projects that have performed phenomenally well attribute much of their success to the right brain – a powerful processing juggernaut that is often misunderstood and whose potential is scarcely used.
Dr. B. Michael Aucoin, PE, PMP is an internationally recognized leader in innovative approaches to the challenges of the high velocity workplace.

The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society with over 10,000 members around the world focuses on realized integrated circuit designs for all applications, using appropriate materials and interconnections. So that more time can be spent on reporting and discussing fabricated designs, less time is spent on simulated and analyzed circuits. The Society produces the most downloaded technical journal in IEEE Xplore, the Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC) and sponsors the premier circuits realization conference the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC).
