memberNet Reaches a Milestone
The number of members who have opted-in their memberNet profile surpassed 7,500. Access to IEEE memberNet is an exclusive benefit of IEEE membership, available at no additional cost to IEEE members.
While the basic member profile in memberNet contains every member's name and membership grade, each member can indicate by check mark (opt-in) what additional information they would like to also have appear. These may include technical interests, local Section, contact information, or IEEE Society affiliation.
Connecting with this extensive group of professionals who share similar technical interests is not available anywhere else. opt-in your profile today to strengthen your networking oportunities.
The memberNet directory, and its opt-in management, is accessible from myIEEE.

IEEE Public Visibility: Generating media coverage for IEEE Members
|
The IEEE Public Visibility Initiative, a global and multi-year communications program seeking to raise IEEE’s visibility and increase public interest in the engineering profession, secured media interviews and bylined articles for IEEE members throughout Q3. These IEEE references build on IEEE's credible reputation with the public, while simultaneously positioning IEEE members as industry experts. For recent IEEE media coverage, go to IEEE in the News.
The following is a sample of recent global media coverage:
- 1 June 2009 in Medical Device Technology (U.K.)
IEEE Fellow Dr. Bin He featured in a Q&A about his experience and predictions in the medical device industry.
- 31 July 2009 in Processor Magazine (U.S.)
IEEE member Matt Bishop quoted in article offering strategies for identifying security threats within a network.
- 10 August 2009 in Embedded Systems Magazine (U.S.)
IEEE member David Mindell penned bylined article about Apollo space advances being the pinnacle of technological progress.
- 19 August 2009 in ChannelNews Asia (China)
IEEE Fellow Dr. Saifur Rahman quoted in a Eco Ventures blog post about the expected smart grid roll-out in Asia and different approaches that countries will follow.
