This event is set up by IEEE Region 1 GOLD. Below is their emailed information.

Hello Region 1 GOLD Members!

Last month the initial invitation for the rafting went out and we have received an excellent turnout so far with members from the following sections:

Massachusetts - Boston, Springfield
New York - New York
New Jersey - North Jersey
New Hampwshire - New Hampshire
Rhode Island - Providence

There are still discount spots available and the outfitter has 59 spots that we can fill as of July 27. These are a first-come first-serve basis and not guaranteed to our group until a deposit is received.

This event you will not want to miss. We already have exceeded last years registrations, increasing the networking opportunities and developing lasting friendships.

Register today (vice@ieee.org) and secure one of the nine remaining rates of $94!

When: Saturday, Septenber 18, 2010 9:30AM
Where: Charlemont, MA
With Who: Region 1 GOLD Members
Provider: Crabapple Whitewater Inc.
River: Deefield River, Monroe Bridge Section
How Much: $109 (First 20 IEEE Members based on postmark date will receive a discounted rate of $94 of almost 15% off!)

How do I get there? We will attempt to arrange car and hotel pooling. Please email your location and if you have a means of meeting in a centralized location.

Is this overnight? We are only planning the one day trip, however there are campgrounds and a motel nearby. See below for details.

[Trip leaves around 9:30am, snack is served on the river. We will have a Steak, Salmon, Chicken or Vegetarian option after rafting.]

RSVP as soon as possible. Please email Rob Vice vice@ieee.org if you are interested. This way we can look into how many slots are available and lock in you into the reservation and possible discount.

Risks: While the rapids chosen are intended for beginners-intermediates, white water rafting is nonetheless risky and accidents do happen. Please perform your own research as to whether these risks are acceptable to you before signing up for the event. Both the rafting company and IEEE will expect you to sign assumption of risk, release of liability waivers before participating.

Join us for this second ever Region 1 event!
