ELEVENTH ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM ON SYSTEM ON A CHIP

November 22-23, 2002

Call For Papers

System on a Chip (SOC) is currently an area of immense interest wherein it is envisaged to integrate on a single chip most of the components, modules or subsystems of an application. The hardware and software requirements are multidisciplinary in nature. The need to bring on a common platform the science, technology and engineering of Micro and Nano electronics, MEMS, ASICS and optoelectronics, along with associated signal processing and CAD tools makes system on a chip a truly multidisciplinary and challenging task. This symposium is aimed to provide a meeting-ground for researchers from academia, R&D organizations and Industry to explore and exchange latest developments in this and related areas.

Original research work and contribution based on theoretical/ analytical/ numerical/ experimental investigations are invited. Any practical case studies performed in industry on SOC will be particularly encouraged. Broad areas of interest include but not limited to: Novel principles and ideas, Smart materials, MEMS, Micro and Nano technologies, VLSI and ASICS, Real time/ embedded systems, Integrated optics/ optoelectronics, Neural networks, Automatic Control systems, Distributed systems, CAD Tools for SOC, Wireless technology, Signal processing, Internet applications, Bio-systems, RF and Microwave subsystems, Test methodology for SOC, Case studies.

Authors are requested to send 3 copies of a 2000 word extended summary of their papers to the following address by post/Fax or email a soft copy to: Prof. A. Selvarajan, ECE Dept, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012. Tel: (080) 3942283; Fax: (080) 3600563; Email: rajan@ece.iisc.ernet.in

The papers may be formatted using MS Word or Latex, preferably using IEEE style file, and should be prepared as a single doc or ps or pdf file. Authors of accepted papers are required to submit a camera-ready form of the full paper, register for symposium and present their paper. Accepted papers will be published in the symposium proceedings. Students are especially encouraged to attend the symposium. Second Class train fare may be provided to a limited number of authors on request.

Important Dates: Extended summary due date: 1 Sep, 2002

Notification of acceptance: 20 Sep, 2002 Final paper in camera-ready form: 20 Oct, 2002 Symposium dates: 22-23 Nov, 2002
