| The inaugural session of the CASCAL’08 was Chaired by the invited Chief Guest Prof. S. Datta, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University. He congratulated the organizers for carrying out such an educational activity for students and encouraged these informative programs as the sphere of Electrical & Electronics technology had assumed such a magnitude that it now covers the arena of nano electronics to satellite & wireless communication. |

He pointed out some important past activities of Section, viz., the Silver Jubilee Celebration Program (SJCP) of the Section held in 2003 on the year of its 25th year. Prof. Sanyal also indicated about some forthcoming Section activities for this year, e.g., the 30th year celebration of the Section. He also urged the students to become IEEE members. |

Prof. R. Nandi, the Chapter Chair had welcomed and thanked the dignitaries and students for joining the CASCAL’08. He also informed the participants briefly about the goals & missions of IEEE and the member benefits. Prof. Nandi pointed out about the supportive email note about CASCAL’08 by the R-10 Director Ms. J. Mazierska. |
