INDICON has been the flagship conference of IEEE India Council in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering, in general, since 2004, which originated by reformation of the earlier Annual Convention and Exhibition (ACE) of IEEE India Council.

INDICON was first organized by IEEE Kharagpur Section at IIT Kharagpur during 20-22 Dec, 2004. Subsequently INDICON was organized by IEEE Madras Section (11-13 Dec, 2005 at IIT Madras), IEEE Delhi Section (15-17 Sep, 2006 at IIT Madras), Bangalore Section (6-8 Sep, 2007 at IISc Bangalore), IEEE UP Section (11-13 Dec, 2008 at IIT Kanpur) and IEEE Gujarat Section (18-20 Dec, 2009 at DAIIT Ahmedabad).

INDICON 2010, was in its 7th year. Having received overwhelming response from various spheres, INDICON has already attained an image of its own.

This Conference was dedicated to the great Indian Scientists Sir J C Bose and Sir C V Raman who worked from Calcutta.

"Green Energy, Computing and Communication", was conceived to be the theme of the conference as Green technology has been felt to be the need of the hour, but the scope was not limited to the theme only.

INDICON 2010 got a overwhelming response from the academia as well as Industry as 445 papers were initially submitted.
