It's an initiative under the Student Activities Committee and Computer Society Chapter IEEE Hyderabad Section which aims to enhance and bring out the coding skills of the participants to give their best at the IEEE Xtreme 14.O. 200+ participants will be selected based on their performances in 3 code contests in the month of June.

The selected participants will go through the scheduled program which includes

• Workshops and webinars on different programming languages.
• Xtreme awareness sessions.
• Codeathons, hackathons and coding contests of different languages.
• Quiz on coding logics and concepts.
• Pre-Xtreme (a mock Xtreme)
• Practice materials- previous Xtreme papers.
• Mentorship for the participants in all the different aspects to make them be prepared for the IEEE Xtreme 14.O.

As a part of Unlock 14.O, there will be brainstorming sessions by eminent speakers from the industry who will help the participants to meet the needs of the industry as well as Xtreme 14.O. The winners will be awarded a token of appreciation by the IEEE Hyderabad Section Computer Society Chapter and Student Activities Committee. Unlock 14.O is an attempt to boost the spirit of participants and withstand in today’s competitive world.

The Section celebrated the success of the first Code Contest as a part of UNLOCK 14.0 with a remarkable number of students making good use of knowledge about the pattern of IEEEXTREME PROGRAMMING COMPETITION and their valuable time during the COVID-19 pandemic situations with the resources, activities, talks, workshops and opportunities provided by the Section through Computer Society Chapter and Student Activities Committee.

The most awaited competition began at 10:00 a.m. on June 2nd, 2020, with 1608 participants competing with each other on the leaderboard of HackerRank and actively solved problems at breakneck speed. The response of the participants was unmatched as they did not stop till 4:00 p.m. The organizers and volunteers were active for six hours to make sure there were no glitches faced by the participants and solved each and every query with a lot of patience. They ensured that the competition was fair enough by steering clear of available codes online from various coding platforms. They achieved this by performing a plagiarism check every once in a while. The volunteers also kept the participants entertained by asking them to click their pictures while coding. The best pictures were posted on the social media handles of the participants tagging the section profiles in order to create the trend required on the social media.
