Welcome to the IEEE Queensland Section

With 431,191 members world-wide at the end of 2013, the IEEE is the world's largest technical professional organisation. Membership of the Institute offers many rewards, including professional development, access to the latest technical publications, and the opportunity to network with other like-minded professionals. The IEEE Queensland Section is situated in the Asia-Pacific region, referred to as Region 10. The Section provides local activities and services to members who live and work in southern Queensland, Australia. It supports the activities of eight Queensland chapters of IEEE technical societies as well as the Young Professional Program and Women in Engineering affinity groups.

The Queensland Section provides this web site as another service for its members. Its purpose is to provide the latest information to the Section's members about the broad range of services and activities that it provides. In these pages, you can find information including:

  • the contact details of the voluntary office holders
  • news about upcoming events
  • copies of current and previous issues of the Section newsletter
  • archives containing photos, documents and news of past Section and Chapter events
  • links to other IEEE websites

  • IEEE, in partnership with Microsoft, offers a wide selection of free development software to IEEE student members and graduate students. To qualify, the student or graduate student member must meet the requirements of Student Membership as defined by IEEE.
