Swee Lan See received her B. Computing (Computer Science), B. Computing (Honours) and M. Computing (by Research) degrees from Monash University, Australia in 1995 and 2000 respectively. She was accredited the Certified Professional Marketer - CPM (Asia-Pacific)- by APMF in 2000, Certified Behavioural & Career Consultant  - CBCC- by IML, Inc. in 2007, and Certified International Project Manager – CIPM - by AAPM in 2009. She was listed in the Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering 2011-2012 (11th Edition), and Marquis Who's Who in Asia 2012.

Swee Lan was co-Chair of I2R Social Committee & Champion of I2R Nature Special Interest Group (2000-2001), Honorary Auditor of COLIPS (2005-2006), Local Arrangement Chair of ISCSLP Conference (2006), Finance Chair of I2R Infocomm Horizons (2007) and Odyssey (2012), and Manager of the Student Volunteer Programme, ACL-IJCNLP (2009).  She is supporting the Local Arrangement Committee of IEEE Life Sciences Grand Challenges Conference (2013), and nominated as the Local Arrangement Chair of Interspeech (2014).
Swee Lan was also invited Conference Session Chair of FIRA 2009, and WCECS 2010. She has reviewed publications for several conferences, and was the Tutorial co-Chair of ICSR 2011.

Swee Lan has rich mentorship experience. She received the Outstanding Contribution Award in 2009 for her at least 5-years’ mentorship service in the MOE-I2R Science Mentorship Programme (SMP), and the Outstanding Mentor Award in 2011.

Swee Lan comes from a multi-disciplinary background, and her research interests include Human Computer Interactions, Social Robotics, Computational Personality Recognition, Speech & Natural Language Processing, Decision Support Systems, Entrepreneurship, and Education. She did her training at IBM Speech Labs in Wincester (UK), and she is currently a Manager in the Human Language Technology Department of the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR.
