Executive reports:
Joe Carl, Hoosam, Neville, and Vil have been submitted to Tracey as attendees to
IEEE Congress.
Motion proposed, seconded, and carried to include Annapolis subsection as a
representative to IEEE congress. Section will sponsor one member.
Mail the by-laws to the Baltimore/Annapolis sections. Vil & Joe to get together
to put this out by next meeting.
Need partner volunteers and other volunteers to assist at IEEE congress at JW
Marriott. Must put together a list by next meeting. Neville is POC for list.
Jeff Bradey, a member from overseas requested and obtained section sponsorship
for candidacy to senior member and obtained senior member status in June.
Jeff’s report: Communications, IAS, Computer Society, PES, Annapolis subsection,
EMB, and EMC have completed two meetings.
Minutes of meeting of April and August distributed.
Motion to accept minutes of April meeting into the record carried unanimously
conditioned on some spelling corrections (lightening to lightning, and Berkovits)

Student Activities: See handout.
Motion to modify Neville’s budget to include $3000 to Kelvin. John made the
motion, Bill seconded, and passed unanimously.
EMB: Three speakers set for Fall (Sept. Oct. Nov.). Did membership drive at JHU.
PES: Oct 15 meeting Joe Dzwonzyk and a meeting in Nov. Co-sponsoring meeting
with IAS 6-week course on bonding/grounding in February time frame. PES has a
high-performing chapter grant of $1000.
EMC: Meeting possibilities, Vil’s paper on EMC, Bob Hinkle, Radar Spectrum NTIA
(Joint with AES).
Computer Society: Second meeting in late May. Another meeting in October
(information assurance).
PACE: Planning an MPAC seminar in early November. Carole looking at Capitol
college. Hotels (expensive, near BWI or south). Topic related to Professional
engineer registration.
Annapolis: USNA talk on MEMS by Firebaugh starts at 7:00 pm
COMSOC: Talk tomorrow at 6:30 at HEM.
EDS: Having a meeting at NG.
Dentler: Partner program - help with hosting. Exhort students to help with
activities.
