Jeff Friedhoffer chaired the meeting, which was called to order at 6:34 pm.

Executive Reports

Section Chair (Jeffrey Friedhoffer)

• Clarified from a meeting with Michael Burke who handles the advertising on the IEEE job site that a company gets one month free for any job posting, and section gets some compensation
• Created a leadership mailing list
• GOLD captain is Wole Akpose who is getting a note sent out to Graduates Of the Last Decade.

Treasurer (Boris Gramatikov)

• Srutinized budget requests from all chapters.
• Checks will be mailed to all chapters that have concentration banking accounts. All Chapters will gets $500.00 with the option that they can request further funding. PES will have a problem with picking up expenses for Engineer's Week. Bill Dixon suggested that Engineer's week be treated as a PACE event and that the Region should fund it. The amount is about $ 3K. John Dentler moved that Engineer's week be a PACE project and supported by the Region and section. Neville seconded the motion and motion passed unanimously.

Secretary (Brian Sequeira)

• Minutes of the April meeting presented. Some changes suggested by John Dentler and by Bob Berkovits. Motion to accept minutes into the record proposed by John Dentler, seconded by Jim Ryan and passed unanimously.

Awards & Recognition (Tom Patton) None Membership Development (Vil Arafiles) None Student Activities (Neville Jacobs) A check for automation kits needed. WIE (Tina Kohler)

• Workshop on May 30 attended by 20 to 30 people. Doug Holly held management seminar.
• June meeting cancelled because too many people are out of town. Next meeting to be scheduled in the Fall By way of clarification, WIE membership is $25 per person.

  Region (John Dentler)

• Concern about AP/MTT and IAS finances
• IAS closed both Bank of America accounts. Proceeds will be deposited into concentration banking account.

  GOLD (Wole Akpose)

• Held 1^st meeting on May 21 at the Marriott next to HEM. Six people attended.
• Some interest expressed by one attendee to become vice-chair
• A newsletter has been adopted as a means to establish communications between members. The first newsletter was sent out past Wednesday.
• Greater interest since expressed by some at Northrop Grumman
• Intend to hold meetings monthly.

  Chapter Chair Reports

  PES (Jim Ryan)

• 75 people (33 of them students) attended the Engineer's week dinner. Event was successful.
• Another meeting on ancillary power system was attended by 15 people.
• PES has lost financial support of its chief sponsor within the industry. As a result PES is scaling back the number of meetings and its program to fund book scholarships at local high schools.

  EMC (Robert Berkovits)

• Nine people attended meeting presented by Vil Arafiles on reducing high frequency conducted noise.
• Two meetings scheduled in the Fall one jointly with AES
• Hope to recruit speakers at the upcoming Symposium.

  COMSOC (Jeffrey Friedhoffer)

• Holding meeting on June 10 to discuss the Fall lineup of speakers.
• Meeting held of Image Processing with Eliza Duh..

Annapolis Subsection (David Boyd)

• Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) meeting held.. John Lambert was speaker
