Minutes of IEEE/LVS/SSCS/Executive Committee Planning Meeting 2Mar2020- 6:00 PM at Rosanna's Restaurant, 2 E Broad St, Bethlehem, PA 18018 In Attendance: Bob Peruzzi, Roger Minear, Richard Booth, Dale Nelson, Betty Nelson, Bob Walden, Paul Davis, Roger Fratti and Glen Offord Paul Davis gave a brief review of his ISSCC trip. The meeting was called to order by Betty Nelson. Secretary's Report: The 31Jul2019 meeting minutes were approved as read. Treasurer's Report: Dale Nelson provided a treasure's report which showed $1884.61 yearly expenditures and a remaining balance of $4711.59. This year's IEEE expected $2000 SSCS allocation (usually Nov previous year) now requires a Mar/Apr application which Dale will complete. The expected $2000 IEEE disbursement and our balance of $4711.59 will be held by LV IEEE section treasure, George Beam. There is concern that SSCS section funds will be co-mingled with LV IEEE funds. Technical Talks: 23Mar2020 Bob Peruzzi will give a talk titled " Professional & Forensic Engineering and Expert Witness Career Progression" April 2020 Paul Davis and Angelo Mastrocola tentatively plan to give a review of the February 2020 ISSCC Conference DL lecture talks are on hold pending Corona virus health issues with talks hopefully in summer or fall. Booth and Peruzzi suggested the committee review the DL list and send suggestions to Betty. Betty raised concerns about traffic pattern changes at Lehigh University which will reduce parking places for talks held there (usually STEPS). Roger Minear suggested providing parking advice with talk announcements. Ongoing and New Business: Bob Peruzzi has researched procuring audio/visual equipment to record lectures and events. He reported Best Buy can supply the equipment and will train our people on its use without charge. Bob Peruzzi and Dale Nelson plan on taking the training. To make SSCS more relevant to Lehigh and Lafayette engineering students, Glen suggested providing contact information for students who wished advice from seasoned engineers. Paul Davis suggested we all write up personal work histories which could be reviewed by students to decide whom to talk with.
