Minutes of IEEE/LVS/SSCS/Executive Committee Planning Meeting

In Attendance:

Bob Peruzzi, Roger Minear, Richard Booth, Dale Nelson, Betty Nelson, Bob Walden, Joe Cicchiello and Glen Offord

The meeting was called to order by Bob Peruzzi.

Secretary's Report: 

The 8Oct2018 meeting minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer's Report:

Dale handed out the treasurer's report. 2019 expenditures prior to this meeting were $161.15 and our balance to date is $5450.09, held by LV IEEE treasurer George Beam.  Bob Peruzzi will forward the LV IEEE treasurer's report to Dale to verify SSCS expenditures. There was no 2019 Morton Contest due to lack of student interest (no SSCS expenditure).

Ongoing and New Business:

There are ongoing discussions about combining the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia IEEE chapters. There are only two active LV chapters - Power and SSCS. Bob Peruzzi checked with Lehigh’s Doug Fry who had no interest in a SSCS paper contest.

Ideas to appropriately use SSCS monies were submitted by chapter members:

     Procure subscriptions to IEEE Xplore for our 22-25 chapter members. Bob Peruzzi will research.

     Procure audio/visual equipment to record lectures and events - agreed to - It was suggested that Bob check with Lehigh's Audio/Visual department for suggestions.

    Ian Ripke suggested providing conference (ie. ISSCC) help to students.  This needs to be fleshed out and voted on.

    Angelo Mastrocola suggested CAD licenses for students - not currently under consideration.

 

Election:

We are seeking LV SSCS officers for the upcoming year.  Please contact Bob Peruzzi if you would like to serve.  A preliminary slate of officers was suggested:
