Survey of Media Coverage of the STS-114 Mission

Please evaluate the coverage of the Shuttle Discovery launch and mission with respect to the criteria suggested at the following link:

IEEE-USA Award for Distinguished Literary Contributions Furthering the Public Understanding of the Profession

Whether we like it or not, the public perception of engineers and other technical professionals is frequently shaped by a media influence. Each of the sections in East / Central Florida has members employed and/or affiliated with NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral AFS, or Patrick AFB. This is a unique opportunity to reward the TV station doing the best to achieve the aims of the aforementioned award with a nomination for national level recognition. Our four sections are among the few that are best able to evaluate the stations' performance. Consequently, the outcome of the vote will determine the media outlet which receives the nomination. The Orlando affiliates of ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and Channel 13 are the ones under consideration for the nomination, though a space is provided if you believe a broadcast station has been unintentionally omitted.
