Notable increases have occurred at the Member (+5), Fellow (+2), Student
Member (+21), and Graduate Student Member (+4) grades, since the
last update, and slight losses at other grades. New membership
drives at local colleges and universities are having a positive impact on the
member counts of the Orlando Section.

joined in the Orlando Section: 2, Associate Members, 3

attached list of new members in the Orlando Section.
Over the 31 days, ending on February 25, 2010, 18 active IEEE members

A Membership Development Conference Call was held on February
20, 2010. The Membership Development Presentation for February
2010 is attached as a PDF file. The next webcast is scheduled for
Saturday, March 20, 2010.
Recruitment Opportunity: The Orlando Section is again reminded that the
incentive program of Region 3 to increase higher-grade membership in all
Sections will last over the 2010 recruitment year, ending August 31, 2010.
Each section will be given $5 for each new, not transferred, higher-grade
member, who joins the section between September 1, 2009 and August 31,
2010. As of February 25, 2010, SAMIEEE records indicate
that 21 new Members have joined in the Orlando Section since
September 1, 2009.
Current members at all grades are strongly encouraged
to recruit new members at the grade of Member or higher.
Recruitment
Activities:
The IEEE Student Branch at DeVry University, Orlando, hosted a week of events for
Engineering Week from February 15 through February 19. William
Hortos attended the event on Monday, February 15, 2010. All members
of the IEEE Student Branch at DeVry can be contacted
at devryorlandoieee@gmail.com .
Recovery
Activity:
As of February 9, 2010, there remain 107 members who first joined the IEEE
Orlando Section in 2009 who have
not renewed their membership for 2010. These are members
are considered in Pre-Arrears. A second and
final email message was issued on February 22, 2010 to these
members to encourage their 2010 membership renewal. As of February
25, 2010, 93 first-year members had not yet renewed membership for
2010.
IEEE members
who do not renew their membership for 2010 by February 28, 2010 will be removed
from the list of active members at IEEE Headquarters and afterward
be denied access to all membership benefits and services. These
members will then be considered in Arrears; their names will be added to the
Arrears list for future recruitment.
